Funeral Tape
Transcription
The tape or CD recording
morticians often make of a memorial service represents a
valuable mini history of the deceased’s life. Information
thereon usually includes all of the important statistics
pertaining to the person. There is also a verbal history
recounted in a positive way by friends and relatives. If no
other history had been left, this recording could be valuable as
the life history of the person.
At The Family Place we did our first funeral tape transcription
in 1986.
Once the record was printed, the next step
was apparent; we made a nice personalized cover and had it bound
into a memorial tribute. This effort was well received. Soon
other families were requesting our services.
To personalize each
tribute we began to include pictures and documents. A daughter
suggested her mother’s favorite poem be printed on the first page; a
husband wanted to have his wife’s favorite flower on the cover, and
so
our technique evolved.
Now each tribute becomes as unique as the
individual it honors. Our mission is to help each family create a
beautiful tribute to the memory of a loved one.
Over the last 14 years
technology has provided new opportunities for excellence in
producing memorial tributes from audio tapes. We now use a laser
printer, distinctive fonts and acid-free archival paper. Binding
technology has made it possible for us to obtain affordable options
for binding one book or one-hundred books.
