Scanning and preservation
– Photos may be scanned and preserved on compact disks. These are
easily shared with family members and so inexpensive everyone can own
a copy.
• Enhancement - Once photographs are scanned, they may be enhanced
electronically. Faded photos can be made bright again, focus can be
sharpened, and details restored. -

• Restoration – In most cases scratches and wrinkles can be removed
from damaged photographs. Small missing parts can often be
reconstructed and many times the photograph may be almost as good as
new. Remember that each damaged photograph is different and must be
considered on an individual basis.
Clutter can be removed from on otherwise good photo. In many cases
distracting backgrounds can also be removed. -

Reconstruction –
This is possibly one of the most interesting aspects of digital
photograph work. If you lack a portrait of your great-grandfather, but
have a picture of him in a small group, his image may be isolated,
copied and reconstructed into a portrait you can proudly hang on your
wall. - example
